Catching Up With My BFF — and Collecting a Bib
We were complete opposites at university and barely connected back then. Years later, we crossed paths again and discovered we had far more in common than either of us expected — including teaching, music and plenty of karaoke. 😊

Hunter Falls — Apparently I Have No Self-Control Around Waterfalls
I was deliberately avoiding waterfall hikes before the Sydney Marathon. Then Hunter Falls appeared. Seven hundred kilometres of driving, 34 kilometres of bush-bashing, a near car mishap, possible camping fines and one health scare later…I still think it was worth it.

One More Off the Bucket List — Mt Pieter Botte
Twenty-two hikers were invited. Five of us turned up. Add heavy rain, slippery boulders, a 12kg pack and two supposedly non-drowsy antihistamines, and Mt Pieter Botte became exactly the kind of adventure I should have known better than to enjoy.

Things to Do in Yarra Valley: Wine Tasting
I know almost nothing about wine and hardly drink it, but somehow I still came away from Yarra Valley with a favourite. 😂

Apparently, I’m Not a Natural Skier
Graeme said I’m not a natural skier. Naturally, I decided the appropriate response was to go back out again after lunch.

An Impressive Waterfall Without the Suffering
I thought an easy waterfall walk couldn’t possibly be that impressive. Steavenson Falls proved me very wrong — and nobody had to climb a boulder, cross a river or feed a leech to see it. 😂

Nothing to See — So I Went Anyway
The fog was so thick there was apparently no point going to the summit. Naturally, that made me want to go even more. 😊

So Much Water
Sometimes a number means very little until you’re standing in front of it. Apparently, 44 billion gallons looks rather beautiful on a misty day.

Bye Bye, Israel
After ten days, it was time to say goodbye to Israel. I’ll miss the places and experiences, but most of all, the beautiful people I shared them with. Some trips stay with you because of what you see; others because of who was standing beside you.
