It was good to catch up with my BFF while I was in Sydney.
We’ve known each other since university, although strangely enough, we didn’t really hit it off back then.
Personality-wise, we were almost complete opposites.
She was very extroverted — a social butterfly, a bit of a princess (in a good way
), and always involved in student affairs.
Me?
Introvert. Couldn’t be bothered. Happily living in my own little world.
Then our paths crossed again later in life and we discovered something funny: despite having very different personalities, we actually had a lot in common.
We both have a passion for teaching.
We love the same kind of music — which naturally means lots of karaoke.

We both love adventures, although perhaps not always in her princess kind of way.
And, most importantly, we both love to eat.
So catching up usually involves talking, laughing, eating and remembering just how long we’ve known each other.
This particular reunion also happened to coincide with collecting my bib for the Sydney Marathon.

Because apparently travelling to Sydney, catching up with an old friend and going to see Tina: The Tina Turner Musical wasn’t enough activity for one weekend.

I also had a marathon to run.
