Getting There…
What started as a simple plan to make guinea pig cleaning easier turned into a full renovation for both the guinea pigs and the birds. The birds loved their upgrade; the guinea pigs, however, had other ideas. 😂

RIP, My Nala
After 9 years and 3 months, I had to say goodbye to Nala. She had been such a familiar little presence in our home, and losing her was a sad reminder of how deeply our pets become part of everyday life.

Miss Curly, the Little Champ
The tiniest of the three, but certainly not the weakest. Miss Curly learned very early that if her siblings were going to push her away from the milk bar, she’d simply move on to solid food—and eventually become the boss of the dining table. 😊

Farewell to My Big Girl, Chessy
Chessy lived to the grand old guinea-pig age of 7½, with a simple philosophy: all is forgiven when the snacks arrive. 💕

Such a Guard Dog
Luna takes household security very seriously — especially when Graeme is eating. Every bite is monitored. 😂

A Walk to Double Island (Fail)
We set out to walk to Double Island at low tide. We didn’t make it — and Luna is now fairly certain I tried to drown her. 😂

High Maintenance
Luna has already taught us one very expensive lesson: never confuse an innocent face with low maintenance. 😆

Apparently, You End Up Looking Like Your Pets
They say people eventually start looking like their pets. Apparently, I’ve gone from guinea pig to bulldog… and I’m not entirely sure this is progress. 😂

The 30-Minute Feeder That Takes Three Hours
I bought Luna an interactive feeder to slow down her eating. It was supposed to make dinner last 30 minutes. Luna somehow turned it into a three-hour meal with scheduled nap breaks. 😂
