After our Pilates session, the conversation somehow drifted — as it often does — to our furry babies.
One of the ladies shared that every time she goes to work, her dog has the air-conditioning on and music playing… and still whines dramatically about being left alone.
Like a proud parent, I told them that my dog is far more chill.
Whenever I’m getting ready to go out, Luna simply hops onto the couch, makes herself comfortable and goes straight to sleep.
No crying.
No guilt trip.
No dramatic farewell.
Naturally, I pulled out my phone and showed them photos of her sleeping.
One of the ladies looked at the photo and immediately said,
“Oh, I know Luna!”
I looked at her.
You know Luna?
Curious — and perhaps slightly protective — I asked how.
She casually replied,
“From the Kuranda to Port Douglas race.”

(Apparently, this is how celebrities attend races)
And then she looked at me and asked:
“So… are you Luna’s mum?”

Apparently, I’ve spent years running marathons, climbing mountains, studying, writing a book and generally trying to make something of myself…
only to discover that my greatest claim to fame is being Luna’s mum.
I might not be famous.
But at least she is.
