Meggie was our very first bird.
Graeme found him one day on the lawn when he was still very young.
Too young, really, to be left to fend for himself.
So I ended up hand-feeding him.
And just like that, what started with one little bird found on the grass became the beginning of a much bigger feathered household.
At the time, of course, we had no idea where it would lead.
There was just Meggie.
Tiny, dependent, and somehow already part of the family.
Looking back, perhaps he was the one who started all of this.
