Ten years ago, I posted a video of Jess settling into our guinea pig village.
When Facebook brought the memory back, I was surprised by how different everything looked.
Apparently, I’ve been renovating guinea pig real estate for a decade without realising it. 
What started as a simple little area gradually became more elaborate as I added houses, plants, feeding areas and whatever else I decided my piggies absolutely needed.
They probably never asked for any of it.
But apparently their landlord has standards. 
The funny part is that when you change something little by little, you don’t really notice how much it has changed until an old photo appears and reminds you where you started.
And ten years later, the guinea pig village is still here — just slightly more sophisticated.
Possibly more sophisticated than some human accommodation I’ve stayed in.
