I came home last night after nine hours at work and was pleased to see Fudge just sitting in one of their main hutches.
I had to look for her when it was time to feed them before bed, but unfortunately she refused her food. She still seemed happy to be petted and to have a snuggle.
Deep down, I knew the time had come.
So instead of trying to make her eat or do anything she didn’t want to do, I just let her have her way and cuddled her.

We cuddled the whole night. I slept in the living room so I could stay with her during her last moments.
At about 5:15 in the morning, while she was still in my arms, she had a mild convulsion and took her last breath.
Rest in peace, my little darling.
