I feel so blessed to live in paradise — and to have a husband and friends willing to wake up very early and come with me to Copperlode Dam.
They thought we were going for a picnic.
We were.
I just may not have mentioned that the picnic wasn’t really my main reason for going up there.
First, there was a 6km walk.
Then we had our picnic.

And afterwards, I was supposed to run back down.
Strangely enough, nobody volunteered to join me for that part.
Not that it mattered. I discovered that running downhill after eating a full picnic is not particularly enjoyable, so there was considerably more walking than running anyway.

Still, by the end of the day I had completed my 27km run/walk.
So technically everyone got what they were promised.
They got a picnic.
I got my long run.
