Stories Along the Way

Originally written in 2015

I only planted sweet potato for the leaves. I used them in salads and Asian soups, and that was enough for me.

Then the vines started taking over the vegetable garden, so I decided to pull some out.

And voilà.

Underneath all that enthusiastic growth were these enormous sweet potatoes waiting for me.

Sometimes the garden gives you exactly what you planted for.

And sometimes it throws in a bonus.
