I had already spent far more than I anticipated on airfares and accommodation, so I decided I had to make the rest of the trip interesting.
Instead of complaining about having a tight spending budget, I turned it into a challenge.

The challenge:
Visit Zurich, Amsterdam, London, Paris, Israel and Rome, with a layover in Singapore—on an AUD$1,000 spending budget.
That means food, local transport, sightseeing, entrance fees and all the little expenses that somehow multiply when you’re travelling.
Can it be done?
I have absolutely no idea.
But that’s what makes it fun.
I already have the flights. I already have somewhere to sleep. Everything else will require a little creativity, plenty of walking and hopefully some self-control whenever I see something tempting.
Let the challenge begin…
