Just had a DIY haircut.
Between the two of us, we probably saved more than $50, petrol, and hours of waiting around at the hair salon.
All it took was a pair of hair clippers, a bit of courage, and the belief that surely we could manage this ourselves. 
And somehow, we did.
Hurray for hair clippers!
