The Road Less Travelled

Stoney’s Creek in Kamerunga to Wrights Lookout is a 14.6 km return hike.

The track description says it takes around four hours one way and shouldn’t be attempted from the Kamerunga side unless you’re fit.

But because I’m stubborn and love a challenge, I approached it from Kamerunga—and completed the return trip in five hours. 😊

Was the view worth the effort?

If you’re sane, probably not.

But if you’re crazy like me, highly recommended! 😂

There’s just something healing and invigorating about being alone with nature. The physical exertion makes you sweat out all the tension and negativity you’ve accumulated throughout the week.

And then there’s the exhaustion.

You use up so much energy climbing that by the time you finish, you don’t seem to have any energy left to respond to negativity, take offence or stay upset about things that probably weren’t worth carrying in the first place.

Afterwards, all I want is a hot bath, a relaxed dinner with friends and a good night’s sleep.

And that is how I prepare myself to face the challenges of another week.

😊
