Whiterock Peak.

It looked perfect.

Short and sweet.

I only needed about a two-hour hike, so I thought this would fit nicely into the training plan.

There was just one small detail I forgot to check:

the difficulty rating.

Oops.

Instead of the steady uphill walk and breezy downhill jog my coach had planned, I found myself crawling on all fours on the way up…

and sliding down on my bottom on the way back.

So much for structured training. 😂

At one point, I’m pretty sure the session changed from:

“build muscular endurance”

to:

“try not to fall off the mountain.”

Still, I can’t complain.

There was absolutely zero chance of boredom because I was far too busy concentrating on staying alive.

And that’s the fun of it, really.

We chose the challenging track…

and Whiterock Peak definitely delivered. 😊
