The Fab Over 50s Club has apparently started a new tradition: doing 50 push-ups — or more — at the top of Queensland’s highest mountain.
I’m certainly honoured to be part of this group.
However, while these extraordinary women were doing push-ups on boulders, jumping for photos and proudly flexing their muscles, I contributed in the only way I knew how.
I smiled.

Unfortunately, the only muscles I know how to flex are my facial muscles. Most of the others are very shy and prefer to remain safely hidden behind several protective layers of fat.

So while everyone else can be responsible for the push-ups, jumping and muscle poses, I have accepted my official role in the group:

Chief Smiler.
And really, every hiking group needs one.
