Apparently, I’m Not a Natural Pilot

This was during a joy flight at MAF Mareeba, where I somehow ended up sitting in the co-pilot’s seat.

I was already feeling rather important with my headset on when the pilot asked if I wanted to take over and fly the plane.

Very tempting.

But I thought honesty was probably important in aviation, so I told him about my previous experience in the flight simulator.

I had crashed twice.

The worrying part was that I didn’t even know I had crashed.

The simulator instructor had to tell me that approximately three minutes after take-off, I had already brought the aircraft to an unfortunate end. 😂

So after sharing this useful piece of information with the real pilot, I asked:

“Do you still want me to fly the plane?”

He didn’t reply.

😂

Perhaps that was my answer.

Still, I got to sit in the co-pilot’s seat, enjoy the flight and briefly imagine myself having a promising career in aviation.

Very briefly.
